What's up guys I'm Colin for theScore esports you know when we talk about eras in Counter-Strike. They're often defined by the teams that dominated them. Think Ninjas in Pyjamas at the beginning of CS:GO SK/Luminosity a few years ago and now FaZe Clan? Maybe https://dndreviews.com/are-esports-real-sports-can-gaming-be-a-career/? But which one is the ultimate, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. Now before you hit the comment section, cause I know you're dying to.
Hear me out and take a look at our criteria. We evaluated these teams partly on Major finishes Top 4 consistency and yes how they help define the era they played in. So without further ado sit back, hit that subscribe button, and get ready, 'cause this is the Top 10 Rosters in CS:GO history. Kicking off our list at number 10 is FaZe’s star studded lineup. With superstar players in Olofmeister and Niko, a world class AWPer in GuardiaN, and experienced players in Karrigan and Rain, FaZe is easily one of the most impressive rosters, at least on paper. "FaZe Clan is kind of a band of rockstars." "And we are here to rule the world." "A lot of people call us the super team, to compare to Golden State Warriors." "If I am at my peak? No one can beat me." Despite a shaky start at their first event, this lineup rebounded with ease placing Top 4 in eleven out of out of thirteen tournaments. Including seven grand finals appearances and three first place finishes. FaZe Clan might have lost to Cloud9 in a nail-biting Major grand final, but you can't argue against this team's consistency. At number nine, we've got a Fnatic lineup that featured the original Swedish powerhouse in Olofmeister, JW, Flusha, Krimz, and new-found addition dennis from November 2015 - August 2016. After a dominant run in the early Fnatic era, the sudden departure of pronax, and addition of dennis left many fans confused and baffled. But the roster move changed nothing as Fnatic picked up right where they left off, continuing their reign as CS:GO’s best team. "What's crazy about the success of the new Fnatic lineup. It feels like it's really made us take greatness for granted because already, this is clearly one of the best CS:GO teams we've ever seen." With Dennis on board, they made it to six grand finals. Winning five back to back titles, and placing outside the Top 4 only once. in ten tournaments. At Number 8 on our list is a Na’Vi lineup that featured the likes of Zeus, seized, GuardiaN, Edward, and flamie. At a time where CS:GO was arguably at its peak with teams like Fnatic, Luminosity, and EnVyUs, Na’Vi were a model of consistency, routinely placing at the top of the leaderboards. "The thing with Na'Vi is they're such a solid team. Really structured, and they will always, as Thorin points out a number of times. They never get blown out of games. "They've already accomplished so much, making it to the final of the last Major." "Winning so many small tournaments. So many Top 4s, so many Top 8s finishes." "This has been a very very consistent team." (Casting) (Casting) (Casting) Out of 27 premier events Na'Vi made 13 grand final appearances 19 Top 4 finishes and won five titles. Hailing from Denmark, this roster of Dupreeh, dev1ce, xyp9x, cajunB, and Karrigan made their presence known in the scene with some dominant wins early on against some of CS:GO’s best teams. (Casting) (Casting) Although they were often known for falling short in the tournaments that mattered most, it was this team’s incredible consistency throughout their two year tenure that landed them on this list. During their run as Dignitas, TSM, and Astralis, the Danes boasted an incredible streak of 21 Top 4 finishes nine grand finals. And won five championship titles, in that timespan. Number 6 on this list is the next iteration Astralis. That previous Danish roster of dev1ce, dupreeh, cajunb, xyp9x, and karrigan met with inconsistent placings starting in mid 2016. karrigan was swapped out for new IGL gla1ve and things turned around around immediately. (Casting) "I said on the broadcast on TBS.

Palm Springs, California This video was posted to Twitter by Julián Cortés, who began searching for the clown who was in his apartment complex. His little brother told him, and Julian does not believe him. The head towards the exit of the parking lot, and standing under a streetlight is the clown. It begins to walk towards the car, as Julian’s little brother screams at him to drive away. Number 3.
Reno, Nevada This video begins with the camerawoman saying they spotted a clown in the bushes. Soon a clown can be seen in the bushes, and attempts to walk away. The camerawoman asks the clown “what are you doing?”, which was a mistake since the clown stops and begins chasing them. Unlike most other clown encounter videos, this person continues to chase them instead of trying to scare them so they just ran away. The video ends abruptly so it’s unknown if the girls got away safely. Number 2. Houston, Texas This video was posted to Twitter by Andrew Petersen. Who’s riding in a car with some friends at night, and they soon notice a clown standing in the road https://uscasinosguide.com/latest-casino-bonuses/. The driver gets out of the vehicle and knocks the clown over before driving off. Shortly after, they agree that they need to drive back to see if the person is okay. The clown begins running at the vehicle, and nearly avoids being hit while somehow grabbing on the back of the car. Before we get to Number 1, I wanted to talk about my favorite clown sighting, which was back in 2014. In Jacksonville, California a group of clowns were scaring people through their home surveillance camera. They would just stare at the camera, completely motionless. Or in one case, tear apart a pumpkin. This footage was very unsettling with the clown staring at the camera the entire time. Number 1. Agawam, Massachusetts This video was posted to Facebook by Michael Poggi, and he encountered this clown standing outside of a store. He comes to a complete stop to recording the man, who is holding a sign that reads “Free Hugs”. The clown rushes at Poggi as he quickly speeds away. It was later discovered that this man was hired to stand there as a publicity stunt for New England Scare Fest. Police were eventually altered after they received multiple phone calls from concerned residents. It is unknown what happened to this man. So those were the 15 scariest clown sighting videos so far. If you’re wondering how this trend started, while it’s believed that the first sighting in South Carolina was a promotional stunt for the upcoming film, It. Based on Steven King’s novel of the same name, it features Pennywise The Dancing Clown. Here’s a clip of him from the 1990 miniseries. Copycats led to a massive increase in popularity, and with more copycats each day, it’s look more likely that you might encounter one of these clowns. Stay safe! Number 10. New Port Richey, Florida At Sims Park, some friends are playing Pokemon Go, but start recording after they notice someone walking around the park. The person walks closer to them, clearly seeing that they’re recording him.
The cameraman and his friend can decide if this person is wearing a clown mask or goat’s head mask, either one is still terrifying. They continue to record, as this person stares at them while walking closer. Number 9. Lakewood, California This video begins with a woman filming her dog, while on a nighttime walk. The dog approaches something on the grass, while the woman asks her dog “What are you doing?” The dog darts away and a clown starts approaching the woman. She begins to run away before the video abruptly ends. Number 8. Des Moines, Iowa This video begins with two guys saying that they drove to this cornfield because they heard that a clown was there. They slowly drive down the road, staring the cornfield, hoping they’ll see something. The passenger eventually asks the driver to stop because he thinks he can see something. While the passenger is starting to enter the cornfield, the driver spots a clown in his side mirror. He urges his friend to get in the vehicle, as the clown chases after the car. The men luckily got away quick enough. Number 7. San Antonio, Texas This video begins with the cameraman filming a dimly lit road, presumably because they noticed something ahead. Hidden in the darkness, a clown is darting towards the vehicle. The men notice when the clown is only a few feet in front of them. They panic as the driver speeds away in reverse. Number 6. Dallas, Texas The video begins with a group of friends filming a clown they noticed in a park. Expressing how weird it is for someone to be doing this. The clown soon notices the group, and begins to chase after them while squeezing a bulb horn. There was quite a bit of distance between the group and the clown, so they manage to run away. It also looks like the clown’s mask came off while he was running. Number 5. Ohama, Nebraska This video begins with some guys driving down a dirt road, who start recording when they see a clown casually walking ahead. The guys begin to panic which turns into confusion on what they should do. The clown walks into the field, as they begin to drive in reverse. The men eventually decide to keep driving forward, and the clown lunges at the vehicle as they drive by. Number 4. Clown sightings, the trend that’s terrifying people across North America with sightings in more than half of the United States, as well as Canada and Mexico. It’s being called the Scary Clown Epidemic. Well evil clowns sightings are nothing new, it has recently blown up in popularity. Back in 2014, this was the Wasco Clown and this photo made national news. But this video is about the recent clown sighting videos, which are being shared mainly through Twitter.
Here are the 15 scariest clown sighting videos. Regardless of whether they’re real or fake, the possibility of encountering one of these clowns is more likely as the trend continues to grow. Number 15. Bridgeport, West Virginia Before this video starts, this man is doing some night time fishing. He starts recording after he hears something approaching him. He shines his flashlight on a figure as he begins to hyperventanate. Later while attempting to leave, the clown is still following this man. He keeps recording as the clown continues to approach his vehicle. Number 14. Clifton, New Jersey This video begins with a man saying he noticed something outside of a Dunkin Donuts. On a billboard up ahead, a clown is seen standing there waving. The cameraman questions how a person would even get up there. The billboard is right beside a highway, so a lot of passerbys were probably wondering the same thing. Number 13. Quebec, Canada This video is taken on a dirt road at night, and it’s presumed these guys started recording once they saw the clown approach their vehicle. They drive slightly forward, and begin yelling at the clown. The clown walks off the road and grabs something he has hidden in the field. The man keeps recording as this clown returns back to the road holding a chainsaw. The men begin to panic as they attempt to drive away Number 12. San Luis Obispo, California This was posted to Facebook by Evan Thompson, who is driving while his friend records. Thompson noticed something on the side of the road, and turned around while his friend started recording. In the background, a bulb horn can be heard. Standing under a streetlight, the guys slowly drive past the clown, as it stares back at them. Thompson and his friend are in shock at what they’re seeing, and the clown begins to chase the vehicle before the video abruptly ends. Number 11. Los Angeles, California This video begins with the cameraman recording his friend light a cigarette, for whatever reason that may be. But soon notice a clown standing under a streetlight. The friends contemplate if they should leave, but quickly decide they should after the clown begins to run at the vehicle. The barely get away as a clear look of the clown can be seen as it runs right beside the vehicle. At 1 Main Street, Las Vegas. Hey everybody welcome to Las Vegas. Dave Benz, hanging out with Melissa Mccurley and Mark Renneson.
And guys we're excited to be here and be a part of this tournament as Pickleball continues to grow in yet another major tournament added to the schedule. - Oh absolutely, it's been a great week. We started with an amateur event the first part of the week and then are going on with the pros today. - Mark you've seen this sport really grow and to see a tournament like this with a large purse for the pros, it really is impressive. - What a thrill, this is one of the richest pickleball tournaments in the sport right now. To come to such a beautiful place in Las Vegas, here at the Plaza Hotel, it's a real treat for spectators and players. - Yeah the purse of $25,000 vaults it right to the top of pickleball tournaments that are being played around the country right now. Over 300 players, not just from the United States but four countries represented in this tournament here. We are excited to get the coverage under way. Let's play some pickleball here in Sin City! Don't go anywhere, live action coming your way next Casinoslots. Stop me if you've heard this before but it's gonna be Kyle Yates and Ben Johns against Callan Dawson and Tyler Loong. A match that we saw earlier today here in our live coverage and it was decidedly in favor of Yates and Johns. They won 11-4, 11-6 in straight sets They set Dawson and Loong to the opportunity bracket and they made the most of that opportunity, Melissa McCurley, because they fought their way back through the opportunity bracket and now they are playing for gold. - Yeah, this is an example, you know we did see these guys earlier today were Callan and Tyler did lose to Ben and Kyle, dropped down to the opportunity bracket and then fought their way back for the opportunity to still win the gold here on championship court at the Las Vegas open. And we are live and under way. -Yates and Johns in the near court. Loong and Dawson in the far court. Loong in the green colored shirt. And the point here to get things started, so an early 1-zero advantage. (coaches talking) - [Mark] So it's going to be interesting what we see here from Yates and Johns early on. Whether they use the power game. Initially we saw Kyle, in the match earlier today we saw Kyle hitting a lot of third-shot drives. Going hard early on in the match. Where as we saw Ben using more of the soft rollers as third-shot drops. So we're gonna see. I think it's fair to expect that from Loong and Dawson we're not going to see very many third-shot drives at all. - And this quartet earlier today, as you might expect with the men's doubles division, they produced the best point we've seen all tournament long. It was impressive. - [Melissa] It sure was, I know we didn't get a count but it felt like at least 50. - Yeah, I said 40 to 50, that ball just crossed the net continuously and in all different form and fashion. - And it's 3-1-1. - Loong and Dawson jumping out to the early advantage. Their largest lead in the first match earlier today was at 4-3 in game number two. So, this is uncharted waters for them against Yates and Johns today. - Yeah and- And this is what I was talking about a little bit earlier too how Ben Yates and Johns, right they won that match. They win then and sat waiting to see who was gonna come get to the final here while Tyler Loong and Callan Dawson continued to play in the opportunity bracket. So they've stayed warm and so it could be very interesting to see if that staying warm will give them an advantage here. - Yeah, you think with the heat it would be advantageous to sit and hydrate but sometimes you sit around and you don't stay fresh. - Right. Yeah, absolutely. - 4-1-2 now. - I don't know we've been so busy over here at the booth, I wonder how many of these players in between matches are hitting the pool. We're here on the fifth floor of The Plaza Hotel, has a beautiful pool right beside the pickleball courts. I'm petitioning for next year that we maybe move the booth over to the pool. (laughing) - I don't know that we'd have quite the vantage point that we have right now. - They got all kind of things over there. They've had live entertainment, there's a bar, there's food. There's some gambling tables, there's a hot tub. I mean it doesn't really get any better than right here on the roof of The Plaza Hotel for pickleball and whatever else you might want to do. - A vicious backhand there by Dawson. And that get's the serve back to Loong/Dawson, with the 4-1 advantage. - There's another point, wow. - Yeah, Loong was able to hold off on that and let it sail wide. - 5-1-1. Make it 6-1-1, and certainly not the start that Yates and Johns were expecting coming out here in the championship match. - No, no it's like they've not kind of woken up here yet. - Now Melissa, because this is a double elimination format, and we're probably getting a little bit ahead of ourselves, but should Loong and Dawson be able to win this first best two out of three, they would go to a tiebreaker, one game up to 15, win by two. - That's right, they sure would. So at that point both teams are considered to of had one loss and then that's why they'd play the tiebreaker. - This point is contending for point of the day. - Wow, what concentration there by Tyler Loong. Did you see that laser down the line? - Yeah, so I think one of the things that the players at home can take when they watch pros like this play, is they always expect their opponents to hit hard. They never expect a soft shot. And by doing that if the ball does come fast you're ready for it. And if it doesn't come fast, if it's slow, if it's a dink, whatever you're wrong but that means you have more time than you expected. So just watch how calm and composed these players are when you get into those bang-bang rally's or when the, what looks like will be dink ends up being a fastball at you. The players are expecting that and they're ready for it. - Guys, Steve Valzan Facebook chiming in wondering what they payout is for the gold medal men's winners. And I don't know the specific number, maybe you do Melissa, but I do know the total purse here at this Las Vegas Pickleball Open is $25,000. One of the richest tournaments currently being played. Almost all of the catastrophes were to Julia herself. I knew nothing about boats before reading this book, and wouldn’t even consider myself a novice after reading it, but the author does a fine job of explaining all of the wear and tear that Julia suffered on her long journey and how the crew was constantly tending to her. It’s almost as if you are learning along with them.
A bevy of friends and fellow cruisers join Larry and his crew along the way. In fact, my only complaint early on in the book was that the relationships were not clearly defined amongst Larry and his crew. Larry is gay and I assumed his long-time companion was joining him on board, but in fact, he stayed behind. Instead, a “bed buddy” of Larry’s named Ken joins him for the first six months. Being gay myself, I had to wonder about this relationship. Besides a mention of breaking his heart when Ken left, our author focuses entirely on the voyage and keeps personal dramas off the page – which is the way this book should be. It is indeed not about the destination, but all about the journey getting there. We constantly read of Larry just in awe of himself and what he is accomplishing. In fact, the book itself is quite an accomplishment. It contains two sets of color photographs and small thumbnail images to help you distinguish which parts are emails, journal entries, or later additions. As a hardcover book, the dust jacket is stunning and as I mentioned before, the map on the inside front and back covers is a very nice touch. This is not a how-to book or can-do book by all means, but you just can’t help but be inspired by Larry’s big heart and kind nature that shines throughout. I learned through researching the book that Larry started his own publishing company just to give this book the attention it deserved, and probably to satisfy the perfectionist in him as well. A businessman, a sailor, and now a published author, Larry has worn many hats. And if you read his book, you will certainly be inspired by his success at all of them. The Boy Behind the Gate
by Larry Jacobson Buoy Press Copyright © January 2011 ISBN: 9780982878798 Hardcover $27.95 Kindle: $9.99 372 Pages Larry Jacobson has sailed around the world! And I don’t just mean that in a literal sense. He actually did it. From 2001 to 2007, Larry and a small crew set out on a journey around the world on a beautiful sail boat he named Julia, after his Mom. His book, The Boy Behind the Gate, tells his story. I like The Boy Behind the Gate a lot, so i decided to write my essay about it and describe my impression to you. This book begins with Larry describing how he fell in love with sailing as a young teen. He became very successful in business and eventually sold his company, making enough to fund his around-the-world journey. And the journey begins with picking the right boat, which Larry and his crew overhauled from top to bottom before beginning the trip in late 2001 – right after 9/11. With a heart and a head full of both determination and second thoughts, Larry’s voyage begins with letting go in December of that year. It was definitely one of those moments where everyone else was questioning his decision, but Larry wasn’t listening. Throughout the book, Larry’s hunger to succeed and to enjoy life shine through. He’s definitely a spokesperson for positive motivation if I’ve ever read one. From California to Mexico, and eventually across the Pacific to the Marquesas Islands, I loved following Julia’s journey which is outlined on a map in the front and back of the book. The book is meticulously organized into journal entries, emails, and personal notes from Larry and from the Captain’s log – pieced together into a story that’s as smooth as, well, sailing. But it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Much of the conflict in the book comes from rough waters, rain storms, and the ultimate fear of being on a boat in the middle of a massive ocean with no land in sight. While it doesn’t hardly ruin the ending of the book, you will be happy to know there were no major catastrophes and everyone came back alive and unharmed. |
